For those of you who have not been to Deal Island you are in for a treat. It is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip to see a hidden gem. There are 13,000 acres of protected marsh and forest as well as beautiful beaches and coastline.  Deal Island is home to thriving waterman community and you will see Chesapeake Bay skipjacks and workboats harvesting oysters, crabs, and a variety of fish. We will start our day at the Skip Jack museum which helps preserve the history of the Skipjack and other workboats and the heritage of all the people of the greater Deal Island area. We will have a private tour by a local waterman of a Skip Jack and then can head to the beach for a picnic together.
